What are your goals for OA Week?
DuraSpace wants to share the story of DSpace repository success in providing African organizations and institutions with a tool for managing, preserving and creating open access to formerly “locked down” knowledge and culture. This open source, easy-to-use repository application has been instrumental in providing universities and institutions with a tool for creating open access. In 2004 there were 9 DSpace instances in Africa. Due the efforts of DSpace Ambassadors and other community outreach efforts that number has increased to 47+ today.
