Hi to all fellow OA workers
I loaded UWC's Repository launch event to the site. I'm attaching the invitation that's been issued on campus, which outlines the programme. The presentation to early adoptors is an "I support OA" tshirt with IR info on the reverse. The posters are still in preparation but I'll share these once they're done.RepositoryLaunchInvite.pdf

A few years back I noticed a poster presentation that was given at some conference. It reported on a theatrical sketch that the Library had prepared and performed at faculty meetings. The aim is to highlight the importance of retaining author rights (ie, not transferring copyright) and to show how authors' choices impact on the scholarly communication cycle. At UWC I'm workshopping the play with faculty librarians to develop a script that we'll perform as part of the Repository launch that week. It's possible that this can be a more entertaining part of what can otherwise become a bit earnest! The poster can be viewed at

Thanks Derek, this is good work: direct, simple and thought-provoking. I like the way you kept the idea of the keys and doors opening throughout. If I was to make one comment it would be to adapt the "social openness" slide. Currently, it's focussed on the effort needed to bring something into the open (ie, not kept hidden). For me, the idea of social openness hinges more on the notion that one wants to share widely (for greater social benefit) and also obtain feedback (for improved quality) and contribute towards global progress. I'll be using part os this (with credits of course!) for our plasma screen that week.
