As part of International Open Access Week, Brunel invites all academics and students to a conference which brings together industry professionals and Brunel researchers to talk about their commitment to making openness in research a reality.
Tune in to our livestream to catch a talk by Mike Taylor from Digital Science
Abstract:
Metrics, evaluation and the worth of research are intrinsically wrapped in politics and policy. As with political revolutions, revolutions in other areas of life leave us open to disruption - and 2016 is nothing, if not disruptive. The revolutions of open science, big data and cloud computing offer some amazing opportunities for those of involved in metrics and evaluation to get closer, and more personal, with the problems faced by the typical researcher. But at such times in history, we are also vulnerable to disruption.
