If you are considering a career in academia or simply wish to make your publications easier for potential employers to find, you will benefit from registering for a free ORCID account. ORCID stands for Open Researcher and Contributor ID (http://orcid.org/content/initiative).
What does it do exactly? ORCID creates a unique and persistent identifier for you as a researcher and author. It helps make your research/publications easier to find and distinguishes you from other authors who share your name.
On October 20-23, stop by the OA Week Table on the first floor of Randall and a librarian will help you sign up for an account. It will only take a few minutes of your time. Even if you are not interested in ORCID at this time, stop by for an Open Access cookie, pick up information about OA, and bring your questions and opinions on open access. We want to hear what you think!
Tuesday, 20 Oct. and Thursday, 22 Oct: 1-3 pm ET
