Open Educational Resources, or OERs. You may have heard of them, or even use them, but what about creating your own OER? This presentation will take you on one instructor's journey of collaboration with UCLA Library to create an OER that helped to fill a disciplinary gap and provide early publishing experience to her students. 

This 30-minute presentation by UCLA Library's Japanese Studies Librarian, Tomoko Bialock, and UCLA’s Dept of Asiian Languages and Cultures Dr. Asako Hayashi Takakura will explore the motivations and benefits of OERs.

Following a short break for Q&A, the program will be followed by a 90-minute session, Creating For Open: Considerations for Creators and Users of Copyrighted Works presented by UCLA Library's Scholarly Communication Librarian, Jennifer Chan.
