Digital publishing has stood out leaving the academic authors vulnerable to whatever trade regime is imposed on them by the scientific publishing industry. In fact, digital edition is an essential starting point to knowledge transmission. Beyond some scheme, it has to match the storage, safekeeping and ensure the access to the collective memory for everyone.
The Open Access publishing can certify that an academic author get a lager audience. It is an editorial platform characterized by functionality and simplicity in use as well as for authors as for final users.
To quote a scientific source, I will take Vannevar Bush « As We May Think », In The Atlantic, 1945. « A record if It is to be useful to science, must be continuously extended, it must be stored, and above all it must be consulted ».
We will use the this occasion to promote self-archiving as the means for providing free digital access to peer-reviewed publications in suitable Institutional Repositories.
A member of the Couperin consortium will advocate for Open Access and self-archiving needs.
The audience will be able to discuss and exchange views over a coffee.
A workshop to get to know the rules to deposit an article from a peer-reviewed revue in SAM, our Institutional Repositories, will take place at the Arts et Métiers Science And Technologies library in Paris, as well as a board game on OA.
