Free Animated Video - To celebrate International Open Access Week 2010, an event taking place from October 18 to October 24, the Canadian Association of Research Libraries (CARL) has partnered with the McGill University Library to produce an advocacy video on the issues of open access. To celebrate International Open Access Week 2010, an event taking place from October 18 to October 24, the Canadian Association of Research Libraries (CARL) has partnered with the McGill University Library to produce an advocacy video and a webcast on the issues of open access. The roughly one minute animated video explains the concept of open access to students and faculty in a simple and fun format. The video is available in both French and English, can be placed on websites, displayed on monitors in libraries during open access week, and is available for free and is licensed under a Creative Commons license. It can be viewed at http://www.youtube.com/user/McGillLibrary.


Pour célébrer la Semaine internationale du libre accès de 2010, qui se déroulera du 18 au 24 octobre, l’Association des bibliothèques de recherche du Canada (ABRC) s’allie à la bibliothèque de l’Université McGill et aux bibliothèques pour produire une vidéo de promotion sur le libre accès. Cette vidéo d’environ une minute explique le concept de libre accès aux élèves et à la faculté dans un format simple et amusant. Elle existe en versions française et anglaise et peut être incluse dans des sites web ou passée sur des écrans dans les bibliothèques pendant la Semaine du libre accès. Elle est gratuite et soumise à une licence Creative Commons. La vidéo peut être vue au http://www.youtube.com/user/McGillLibrary .
