The University of Nairobi (UON) will host the Third Library Open Day/Week from 23rd –25th October 2013. The Open Day, which is one of the Library Performance Contract target for the year 2013/2014 is aimed at enhancing usage of library resources and creating awareness of the UON open access institutional repository (IR).
The theme of the Open Day is “Library Reloaded for Effective Teaching, Learning, Research and Community Services/Consultancy”. The Library Open Week program is geared towards realization of the library’s mission; to provide quality information services that will empower the University in carrying out its core activities of teaching, learning, research and community services/consultancy.
The program will also promote open access to harness the sharing and dissemination of information and knowledge globally.
Invitations are extended to students, faculty members, researchers, the university’s alumni and friends in the information services profession.
The Open Day will be conducted simultaneously in two colleges and one school; namely, College of Agriculture and Veterinary Science, Main campus and School of Law.
