This presentation will look at the broad spectrum of open data, both statistical and geospatial, that Canadian and Quebec researchers can access. The emphasis will be on government-produced data at the federal, provincial and municipal levels. For instance, we will discuss data offered by Statistics Canada, Institut québécois de la statistique as well as geospatial data from the ministère de l’Énergie et des Ressources naturelles (MERN) and from the City of Montreal’s open data portal. We will also address the issue of data-use licenses.
Held at Concordia University's downtown Webster Library (LB-207). Please register, free, online because space is limited.
