DESCRIPTION:This presentation will look at the broad spectrum of open 
 data, both statistical and geospatial, that Canadian and Quebec resear
 chers can access. The emphasis will be on government-produced data at 
 the federal, provincial and municipal levels. For instance, we will di
 scuss data offered by Statistics Canada, Institut québécois de la st
 atistique as well as geospatial data from the ministère de l’Énerg
 ie et des Ressources naturelles (MERN) and from the City of Montrealâ€
 ™s open data portal. We will also address the issue of data-use licens
