This year’s open access activities will be geared towards promoting the concept of open access by targeting various stakeholders in the University community which include [a1] academic staff, university administrators and students. Its main thrust will be the promotion of the University’s institutional repository (NuSpace) as a tool for open access as well as advocating for the adoption and use of Open Access Resources.  It is hoped that at the end of the planned activities  population of and awareness of the institutional repository as a scholarly communication tool will improve. The campaign will also seek to set the tone to advocate for the adoption of an open access policy at the University. At the end of the campaign researchers at NUST are also expected to contribute to the open access movement by publishing in Open Access Journals.
