DESCRIPTION:This year’s open access activities will be geared toward
 s promoting the concept of open access by targeting various stakeholde
 rs in the University community which include [a1] academic staff, uni
 versity administrators and students. Its main thrust will be the promo
 tion of the University’s institutional repository (NuSpace) as a too
 l for open access as well as advocating for the adoption and use of Op
 en Access Resources.  It is hoped that at the end of the planned acti
 vities  population of and awareness of the institutional repository a
 s a scholarly communication tool will improve. The campaign will also 
 seek to set the tone to advocate for the adoption of an open access po
 licy at the University. At the end of the campaign researchers at NUST
  are also expected to contribute to the open access movement by publis
