The V International Open Access Week will be celebrated on 24.-30. October 2011. The University of Tartu Library will continue the tradition of participating in this event and invites everybody to take part in the conferences held at the University of Tartu Library conference hall on the 27th and 28th of October at 11.00. Registration is free, but required.
On Thursday, the 27th of October the presentations and discussions will focus on institutional repositories as the basis for implementing Open Access principles. The conference will be held in Estonian, with the exception of Iryna Kuchma’s presentation on the research libraries’ role in the field of open access policies, which will be in English.
International conference will be held on Friday, the 28th of October. The main topics of the conference are will be: the experience of different organizations and countries in implementing Open Access principles; Open Access regulations; Open Access in Estonia. The conference will culminate with a panel discussion. The conference will be held in Estonian and English; simultaneous interpretation is available into both languages. The conference is sponsored by the Research and Innovation Policy Monitoring Programme.

Everybody is welcome to take part in the tours to our “Robot room”, where our robot scanners will be introduced. Registration is required.
