This workshop follows ‘Open Access Publishing: a guide for the perplexed’ organised by the Arts and Social Sciences Faculty and Library in June, but will be of interest to all staff and research students. It will enable participants to extend their understanding of the implications of the RCUK Open Access Policy and the College’s policy for managing Article Processing Charges (APCs) for gold OA, and discuss these issues in more depth.
The programme includes:
- A briefing by Nancy Pontika (Information Consultant, Research at RHUL Library) on the RCUK Open Access Policy and related College processes
- A number of imaginary case studies illustrating how the RCUK Open Access Policy can affect staff and student researchers
- An open discussion
- A round table including Ben Johnson (HEFCE) and Bob Eaglestone (English, RHUL)
