Open Access can help deliver a Healthy Ireland

This seminar is part of the Annual Open Access Week, a global event that provides an opportunity to learn more about the benefits of Open Access

Co-hosted by the Institute of Public Health in Ireland (IPH) and the HSE Regional Library & Information Service

Date: Monday, 20 October 2014
Venue: Radisson Blu Hotel, Golden Lane, Dublin 2
Background

Healthy Ireland is a new national framework for action to improve health and wellbeing in the Republic of Ireland over the coming generation. Based on the evidence, it outlines a new commitment to public health with a considerable emphasis on prevention. While also advocating for stronger health and social systems.

Open Access (OA) is the immediate, freely available, online access to research outputs. These outputs include peer-reviewed journal articles, conference papers and datasets of various types. The restrictions on use, commonly imposed by publisher copyright, patents or other mechanisms of control, do not apply.
