The main mission of the Association for the Promotion of Open Science in Haiti and Africa (APSOHA) is to contribute to the development of open and fair science for sustainable local development. To this end, the quest for cognitive justice through Open Access to scientific work in the countries of the South occupies a pivotal position. Keeping our long-standing fight, in which is aligned the theme of the 2018 International Open Access Week, "Designing equitable foundations for free knowledge", we invite you from 26 October 2018, to massively participate in the Depose-Thon devoted to submit thesis in the Open Archive DICAMES.
The DICAMES?
Unfortunately, the science of sub-Saharan French-speaking Africa is almost invisible on the scientific web. The African and Malagasy Council for Higher Education (CAMES) has decided to counter this invisibility by launching the project to create an open and pan-African web-based scientific archive: DICAMES. It aims at the conservation and free and accessible dissemination of all scientific production in the countries of sub-Saharan French-speaking Africa.
The Dépose-Thon?
The Dépose-Thon is an activity that aims to mobilize researchers who find that DICAMES is important and even essential to the common good of Africa. The activity will consist in learning, in small groups, to deposit in the DICAMES archive the theses collected by CAMES and APSOHA.
