The 4th CONFOA - Conferência Luso-Brasileira sobre Acesso Aberto (Luso-Brazilian Conference on Open Acces) was held October 6-9 in University of São Paulo, São Paulo, Brazil, with partnership of brazilians and portuguese institutions: University of São Paulo Integrated Library System (DT-SIBI-USP) and Brazilian Institute of Information in Science and Technology (IBICT) from Brazil; and University of Minho (UMinho) and Foundation for National Scientific Computing (FCCN), from Portugal.
The event aimed to encourage the involvement of researchers, teachers, librarians, administrators, students, professionals and politicians, promoting greater spread, penetration and coordination between these actors and the subject of open access in the Luso-Brazilian community.
