From 11:00 am - 2:00 pm on October 23 to October 27 the Center for Faculty Excellence in the Henry Madden Library will be open to the Fresno State community to drop by and talk, share, exchange ideas about "open access" with a short presentation from 12-1pm daily.
Light refreshments provided and daily drawings for attendees.
Monday -- HERO/Intellus
The bookstore will present on HERO (the textbook adoption) and faculty can get help with their adoption for next semester. Plus Intellus will be in attendance to assist faculty in find Open Educational Resources (OER) using Intellus.
Tuesday -- Student Voice
A student panel will share their experiences regarding the high cost of textbooks and learning materials as well as their use of OER or lower-cost materials in the classrooms.
Wednesday -- Open Access & the Library
Librarians Raymond Pun and Matthew Doyle will share their expertise regarding scholarly communication -- open access journals, predatory journals, licensing, etc.
Thursday -- Faculty Voice
A faculty panel will share their experience of using OER or low-cost materials in their courses.
Friday -- AL$/OER Adoption Celebration
We will be honoring the faculty who have adopted OER or lower-cost materials in their courses during the 206-17 academic year.
