The detailed terms of your agreements for publication of books, articles, and any other work have an immediate and direct effect on the usefulness and availability of your own scholarship, and the terms of these agreements are more flexible and negotiable than you might expect. These sessions will provide an overview of issues and strategies for getting better agreements that respect your scholarly works, followed by ample time for questions and discussion. Bring questions, situations, and examples. Bring copies of your own publication agreements.
Leading the discussion will be Dr. Kenneth D. Crews, a faculty member, attorney, and author who directs the Copyright Advisory Office for Columbia University.
