At the Ontario Colleges and University Library Association in Canada, we asked the same question of our community in terms of exploring success and challenges with advancing Open Access.
We decided to collect ideas in the form of a Pinterest Board called the OCULA Open Access Idea Board. We asked our community "How do they celebrate Open Access and engage in other OA initiatives and action on campus?"
The idea is that with Pinterest we can share important links, information, and resources such as:
And of course
- Open Access Week celebrations like the funeral procession to mark the death of evidence at York University, or the film screening of RIP! A Remix Manifesto at Centennial College. Also, most recently, the successful alternate reality game (ARG) hosted by University of Toronto Libraries called Open Robarts that reached international audiences and received significant press coverage including local news but also Boing Boing!
Please take a look at the resources mentioned to help inspire more OA action that is fun and helps to confront some of the challenges we face with planning OA action. We welcome people to add 'pins' by joining the OCULA Idea OA Board. Visit the OCULA website and provide your email address used for your Pinterest account to join today!
