Historian of women's lives in the medieval and early modern period, from queens to commoners. Particular interest lies in the late fifteenth and early sixteenth century, in gender relations, queenship and identity, rites of passage, pilgrimage, female orthodoxy and rebellion, superstition, magic, fertility and childbirth.
I have been shortlisted twice for the Asham award and have had articles published in The English Review, The London Magazine, The New Writer, Ambit and other places. My work has been featured in the Daily Express, The Kentish Gazette, The Evening Echo, Leigh Times and on Newstalk Radio.
