The NGC released a press release during OA Week and the majority of NGC graduate student unions participated in Open Access Week hosting workshops, panel discussions, movie screenings. Most of these events took place in collaboration with their on-campus libraries and copyright offices.
Though some campuses saw higher numbers when compared to others, a continuing concern lies with low attendance/participation rates.
Generally speaking though, OA Week was a success across Canadian campuses.
Forgot to add, at Carleton University, there was the launch of the Graduate Student Open Access Award and CURVE- Carleton's new Institutional Repository. This was a collaborative effort between the Graduate Students' Association and the University Scholarly Communications Committee (includes members from the Library, Faculty and & the Office of the Vice President (Resesarch & International)).
