Event Description

Speakers:

Megan Wacha, Scholarly Communications Librarian, CUNY Office of Library Services
Jessie Daniels, Professor of Public Health, Sociology and Psychology at the Graduate Center, JustPublics@365, CUNY Graduate Center

Open scholarship increases citations *and* has social benefits. Learn more about two important initiatives at CUNY: Academic Works and JustPublics@365. Academic Works is the new showcase for CUNY faculty scholarship and creative work and helps make scholarship more easily found and, accordingly, read more often.

JustPublics@365 is based at the CUNY Graduate Center and its goal is “reimagining scholarly communication for the public good.” A key part of this initiative’s mission to teach academics and others how they can use digital media to get their work out to broader audiences as well as how they can apply  their work to social justice.

Venue: New York City College of Technology, CUNY, Faculty Lounge, Atrium 632
