My institution is a public library, so apart from typically academic sources of information (as we have scholars coming in as well) I am collecting inf sources suitable for people of wider backgrounds and needs. In case of my institution the form of presenting the OA sources is important. For many of our clients doesn`t know about existence of trustworthy information freely available.
I plan to organize, The OA week, in cooperation with other educational institutions (American School in Warsaw, Polish-Japanese Academy of Computer Technologies so far).
Our library will be sort of a platform where different sources of knowledge should be presented.
Hope that very soon our information service will include OA sources.
I would be grateful if you could send me a link/information about OA sources for public libraries, presentations (in power point perhaps) promoting OA. How OA is being promoted in public libraries in other countries – some successful examples? OA in public libraries seems to be very, very new here in Poland. Any help, suggestions are welcome.
