DESCRIPTION:The Charité Medical Library in Berlin is offering a wor
 kshop on Open Access in the English language. The Workshop is aimed at
  scientists and students at the Charité, who are or will be publishin
 g authors.\nContents:\nBesides the fundamentals of Open Access, this w
 orkshop also offers hands on exercises at PCs. Participants will get t
 o know important phrases, data sources and tools that help when choosi
 ng a journal for publication.\n\nThe workshop covers:  Different optio
 ns when publishing Open Access: the green and gold routes\nExpectation
 s from publishers and funders, including:   - Versions: Pre-print, Po
 st-print, Publisher pdf - Embargos - Creative Commons Licenses\nArticl
 e Processing Charges or fees from the publisher and how to negotiate o
 ver these\nFunding through the Charité OA Publication fund\nSelection
  of a suitable OA repository for archiving.\n\nWorkshop leader Jenny D
 elasalle worked for fifteen years in research support roles at various
  British libraries. At her last employer, the University of Warwick, s
 he was the founding manager of the institutional repository and establ
 ished one of England’s first Open Access publication funds. More rec
 ently, she freelanced for universities, publishers and software provid
 ers and she joined the Open Access Team of the Charité Medical Libra
