 ature\nThe University of Salford is celebrating this year's Open Acces
 s Week with a pair of lunchtime talks by researchers who are engaging
  with the wider public by making their research openly accessible. The
  theme of this year's Open Access Week is \"Open in order to...\" and 
 each event will look at our researchers' motivations for opening up th
 eir research publications and research data and the benefits of openn
 ess for audiences beyond academia.\n\nCaroline will be talking about h
 er work with the Open Library of Humanities, a charitable organisati
 on dedicated to publishing open access scholarship with no author-faci
 ng fees. She will discuss the ongoing work for the #Agreement20 proj
 ect, which is a multi-strand academic public engagement project featur
 ing community partners. She will focus on the advantages of OLH's mode
 l, particularly the timeliness of the rolling deadline approach for co
 mmenting on current political events and its use in engaging the commu
 nity.\nStaff from the library will also briefly talk about how they su
 pport open research activities at the university and there'll be an o
 pportunity for discussion and networking too.\nLunch will be provided.
