DESCRIPTION:In recent years, Open Science has been required in all aca
 demic fields. Also, in the humanities and social sciences fields, open
 ness will become increasingly important in the future. At past SPARC J
 apan seminars, we have been focusing on humanities and social sciences
 . This year, we will focus on initiatives that have already been imple
 mented in open research activities.\nThe following lectures will be gi
 ven at this seminar:\n\nDr. Ogiso (National Institute for Japanese Lan
 guage and Linguistics) will talk about the construction of basic data 
 in the field of linguistics and the research activities using it.\nDr.
  Kano (Earthquake Research Institute, The University of Tokyo) will le
 cture on “Minna de Honkoku” (みんなで翻刻), which is researc
 h infrastructure for Citizen Science aiming to create new research dat
 a in collaboration with researchers and citizens.\nDr. Ono (Institute 
 for Information Management and Communication, Kyoto University) will d
 iscuss URA (University Research Administrator) as an intermediary betw
 een researcher data building and Citizen Science.\n\nThrough these lec
 tures, we will share information to try to develop broad and stable Op
 en Science in the humanities and social sciences fields. People tend t
 o think that Open Science is only relevant to researchers. However, at
  this seminar, many people, including librarians, university staff, an
 d publishers, will think about practice of Open Science from their res
