DESCRIPTION:Research data should be an asset rather than a hindrance t
 o getting published, receiving funding or progressing scientists’ ca
 reers. As policies on sharing and managing research data continue to e
 merge – from research funders, communities and journals – they nee
 d to be put into context for researchers preparing their next paper or
  grant application.\nAfter a rapidly sold out inaugural half-day confe
 rence in 2014, ‘Publishing Better Science through Better Data’ ret
 urns in 2015 for a full-day event. The conference will explore the pra
 ctical implications, for early career researchers conducting and publi
 shing their work, of data sharing policies. This will include advice o
 n publishing, advancing careers and include discussion of emerging too
 ls and resources available to researchers to help them, and society, d
 erive maximum benefit from scientific research. The focus of the 2015 
 conference is on natural sciences and medicine, from academic and indu
 stry research perspectives.\nSpeakers will include representatives fro
 m leading journals, research organisations, funding agencies and techn
 ology providers. Also, lightning talks and demos will enable conferenc
 e delegates – researchers and technologists – to present case stud
