 er, legal head of Creative Commons South Africa, to give a presentatio
 n on the impact of the Creative Commons licenses on Open Access and wh
 at Creative Commons is doing to build an ecosystem of openness.\n\nCre
 ative Commons licences are arguably the most widely used open licences
  available for literary and musical works. Through a series of differe
 nt licences, Creative Commons licences allow content creators to keep 
 or give away a variety of rights under copyright law.\n\nDr Tobias Sch
 onwetter is a postdoctoral research fellow. Tobias studied and practis
 ed law in Germany and San Francisco, USA and holds PhD and LLM (with d
 istinction) degrees from UCT. He specialises in copyright-related issu
 es and is a country lead researcher and one of the Principal Investiga
 tors for the African Copyright and Access to Knowledge (ACA2K) project
