 A Day event will contribute as a part of the International Open Access
  Week which is going to happen globally in October. The topic this yea
 r is “Open in Action” which focuses on encouraging us to take conc
 rete steps towards realizing the goal of open research.\nOpen Access i
 s a new model of academic publishing. Many of you might have heard abo
 ut it but may not be very clear of what OA is and what is the current 
 development and trend in this field, how to publish with OA journals, 
 how to identify questionable publishers and predatory journals, how to
  deal with the funding of publishing with OA journals. The Open Access
  Day is to share with the University academic community and the wider 
 librarian’s community the knowledge, practice and benefits of open a
 ccess.\nThere will be several presentations in the event by speakers f
 rom DOAJ the Directory of Open Access Journals, the senior librarian w
 ho played an important role in draft the Chinese National Mandate for 
 OA, expert from publisher and also the researcher from XJTLU. They wil
 l talk about Open Access from their perspective and share their experi
 ence and best practices which will then produce a whole picture of OA
