SUMMARY:Open and Engaged 2021: Understanding the Impact of Open in the
Arts and Humanities Beyond the University
DESCRIPTION:Booking is now open for the British Library’s Open and
Engaged 2021 online conference ‘Understanding the Impact of Open i
n the Arts and Humanities Beyond the University’, part of this yearâ
€™s international Open Access Week.  \nJoin us on the morning of Mo
nday 25 October 2021 to hear speakers explore the different impacts t
hat open resources can have on people. They will seek to question how
openness enhances the ability to engage with communities, how projects
can be sustainable and make positive changes in the long-term, as wel
l as some of the downsides to current approaches to open engagement.
\nMany of the speakers come from the GLAM (Galleries, Libraries, Archi
ves and Museums) sector, and we will learn about ways cultural organi
sations generate, measure and report on impact, and seek useful conne
ctions across the higher education and cultural sectors. \nFurther de
tails can be found in this blog post.  \nRegistration is free and
open now. \nRecordings from the event will be made publicly available
in November. \nContact email: openaccess@bl.uk \n\nFor more inform
