SUMMARY:Open Access: what it is and what's going on?
DESCRIPTION:The Open Access movement originated within the research co
 mmunity and, amongst other benefits, was intended to significantly imp
 rove access to research across the world. More recently there has been
  an emphasis on open access as a means of complying with institutional
  or funder policies, but this event plans to get back to basics by cov
 ering exactly what open access is (and isn’t), why it is a good thin
 g and how open access (and open practices in general) can bring about 
 new opportunities for collaboration and increase the impact of researc
 h.\nThe seminar, which will feature speakers from the University Libra
 ry and all three faculties, will be of interest to academics and PGRS
