DESCRIPTION:Western Libraries will host a panel discussion about digit
 al scholarship on Oct. 19th. Two speakers will discuss how they use te
 chnologies to open up communication and facilitate collaborations amon
 g scholars in different disciplines. They will also talk about the imp
 act of technologies on research practice and scholarship advancement. 
 There will be a moderated discussion between the speakers and the audi
 ence after the two presentations.\n\nA workshop will be held on Oct. 2
 1st to help participants learn how to ensure that their published rese
 arch will be openly available online in a legal manner.\n\nDetails of
