DESCRIPTION:Our current societies demand more openness in manifold fie
 lds, including science and research activities. Terms like “Open Acc
 ess”, “Open Data”, “Open Science” or “Open Knowledge” ha
 ve rapidly gained popularity and are in many communities well known; h
 owever, big efforts to boost policies at national and international le
 vel are needed.\nJPI Climate invites climate-related research communit
 ies, research funding organisations, policy makers and practitioners t
 o discuss together on how societies can manage data and information to
  create knowledge (and ultimately wisdom) with problem-solving charact
 er.\nFollowing the notion of “openness” by the Open Knowledge Foun
 dation, the symposium will be structured around 3 main issues:\n\nAcce
 ssibility and availability\nRe-use and re-distribution\nUniversal part
 icipation\n\nTopics like Open Access to research data and publications
 , open source and open licensing, and science-society dialogue will be
  tackled during the plenary and breakout sessions.\nIf you are researc
 her, practitioner or working in a funding organisation and you are int
 erested in these topics, regardless of your previous experience, we wi
